About the Role:

GlobalStep has recently opened a 20,000-square-foot facility in Dallas alongside its corporate offices. As the Director of Human Resources, you will play a pivotal role in supporting GlobalStep’s Games QA Test Center of Excellence, ensuring that our team delivers high-quality testing for some of the biggest and most anticipated games in the industry.

This is more than an HR leadership role—it’s an opportunity to shape the employee experience for a team of 150 passionate, gaming-savvy professionals dedicated to delivering top-tier gameplay experiences. You will oversee the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding and engagement to career development and retention, ensuring our workforce remains motivated and empowered.

Responsibilities

Employee Records & Compliance:

  • Responsible for offer letters, onboarding, employment checks and retention strategies
  • Manage employment contracts, terminations, and contractor/freelancer management, ensuring compliance with federal, state (Texas) and local labor laws and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure confidentiality in handling sensitive documentation.

    Policy Management:

    • Must be a “Master of Policies”
    • Maintain and communicate HR policies to employees and leadership.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies (e.g., travel, benefits).
    • Ensure policies are adhered to across the organization and take corrective actions for violations.

    Payroll & Timekeeping:

    • Oversee onboarding processes, including payroll setup and collection of employee information.
    • Monitor attendance, manage timekeeping systems, and address discrepancies as needed.

    Employee Relations & Compliance:

    • Foster a welcoming, open-door policy to provide guidance and support to employees at all levels.
    • Function as a mediator for workplace conflicts, fostering resolution and a positive workplace environment.
    • Address performance issues and collaborate with managers to drive positive outcomes.
    • Serve as a trusted HR partner to the senior management team, offering proactive and personalized solutions.
    • Oversee employee exits, conduct thoughtful exit interviews, and manage offboarding processes.

    Reporting & Strategic Insights:

    • Prepare and deliver HR metrics and reports to senior leadership, including data on turnover, compliance, and retention.
    • Develop and optimize HR workflows, policies, and procedures to align with company growth and compliance standards.

    Facilities & Operations Management:

    • Take ownership of daily office operations, addressing facility needs (e.g., equipment troubleshooting, security protocols, and workspace maintenance).
    • Serve as a visible, on-site leader, fostering a positive, well-managed workplace environment.
    • Manage logistical responsibilities such as opening, closing, and ensuring the smooth operation of the facility.

    Organizational Growth & Leadership:

    • Collaborate with the SVP of Client Services and leadership teams to align HR initiatives with operational objectives.
    • Support employee development, career growth, and workplace engagement initiatives.

    Location: Must reside in the Dallas, TX area and be willing to work on-site in Richardson, TX daily (non-negotiable).

    What you bring:

    • Proven HR Leadership: Over 10 years of HR experience, including at least 3 years in a Director-level role, demonstrating a track record of driving impactful HR strategies.
    • Educational Excellence: A Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field is required; an MBA is a plus.
    • Industry Expertise: Deep experience in contact centers, BPOs, or similar high-turnover environments, managing large-scale HR operations for both contract and permanent teams.
    • People-Centric Approach: A hands-on, proactive leader who thrives in face-to-face employee engagement and HR operations.
    • Operational Excellence: A detail-oriented problem-solver who ensures HR processes run smoothly, balancing strategy with execution.
    • Collaborative Mindset: A team player who values organizational expertise while bringing fresh insights, adaptability, and a commitment to learning.
    • Legal & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of Texas and federal employment laws, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
    • Tech-Savvy HR Professional: Proficiency in HRIS, timekeeping systems, and MS Office (Outlook, Excel), with a keen eye for leveraging technology to streamline HR functions.
    • Strategic Problem-Solving: A forward-thinking HR professional with a tactical approach, adept at identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions.
