Job Overview

As the Quality Assurance Director, you are solution-focused and believe that QA is far more than just testing. You have extensive experience in Quality Assurance and ensuring efficiency. You are an excellent communicator and love gaming. You are immersed in video game technology and the gaming world and can couple your high-level expertise in QA with your passion for video games.

You will spearhead the Dallas QA practice, ensuring the quality of service rendered to our clients is excellent. You are a strategic decision-maker, you understand market trends, are up to date on new tools and technologies, and are always striving for new ways to bring efficiency to our QA practices. You will use your creativity, technical expertise, and strong customer focus to ensure that GlobalStep meets and exceeds customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of Quality Assurance in the Dallas Center overseeing all projects in this location
  • Define and refine QA processes as required
  • Understand customer needs and be able to lead teams towards meeting and surpassing those needs
  • Be willing and eager to learn
  • Seek and ensure we are receiving feedback from customers and react accordingly
  • Understand the uniqueness of our clients and ensure we are performing to the high-level standards of our clients
  • Establish the processes and metrics to validate that we are ensuring utmost client satisfaction
  • Identify necessary tools and technology by proactively looking for new and better platforms and products that we can integrate into our teams and processes
  • Be quick to respond to address and resolve customer needs
  • Internally advocate and spokesperson for all things QA
  • Drive knowledge transfer and communication processes with internal and external teams
  • Proactively determines risks and mitigations across multiple projects
  • Communicate issues, risks, concerns, and successes clearly to stakeholders
  • Work closely with QA Managers, Project Managers and Test Leads to ensure projects are set up for success and well executed. If required, you may also work with test teams across multiple test locations
  • Facilitate communication with other managers and directors across GlobalStep
  • Support our sales and account management staff in providing expertise in QA operations
  • Represent QA interests to the management and executive groups
  • Working closely with team members in a collaborative, agile and small team environment
  • Engage with customer for CSAT and responsible for managing customer satisfaction.
  • Should have the technical competence, who are willing to roll up their sleeves and do the work. This hands-on approach ensures that our leaders not only guide but actively contribute to the technical aspects of our projects
  • Capable of hiring, managing and should be able to provide technical mentorship, foster a collaborative team environment, and ensure the continuous development of team members.

Experience

  • Minimum 12+ years’ experience in the QA profession
  • 8+ years in the gaming industry in managing large teams, both internal and external
  • Must have a passion for video games
  • Experience managing multiple projects in game development and in live operation environments simultaneously, seeing through pre-launch and post-launch testing cycles as a QA Manager or Director
  • Knowledgeable about a variety of testing methodologies, including but not limited to, compatibility testing, performance testing, user experience, regression, and acceptance testing
  • Experience with planning and executing QA for regional differences
  • Previous experience working in a distributed development or QA environment
  • Previous experience managing bug defect solutions & driving the creation of test plans
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in client communication and promotion of our services. The ideal candidate should have the ability to articulate our offerings, understand client needs, and build strong, lasting relationships. This includes effective communication of our technical capabilities and how they align with client requirements
  • Be both extremely technically inclined and customer-centric
  • Openness to feedback and learning.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred (Computer Science, Business Administration or any relevant specialization)
