The role:

Due to continued global growth, GlobalStep has a new opportunity for a VP of Sales for our services within the Games Industry. We are looking for a highly motivated, hands-on executive to focus on revenue generation, through new client acquisition and retention, coupled with the growth and management of the global sales team.

The ideal candidate should have a good contextual understanding of the development side of the games industry so that she or he can inspire the confidence of the sales team, attract the right talent, and be able to engage in value conversations within the industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Revenue growth in Europe and the USA, through acquisition of new accounts through increased market penetration 
  • Driving the company’s business development strategy for games and prioritizing potential partners to reach overall company goals  
  • Evaluating and developing lasting relationships with gaming brand partners to support the company’s financial objectives
  • Developing and owning the strategic roadmap (years 1, 2, and 3) that identifies, evaluates and plans, on a step-by-step basis, the prioritization and execution of new revenue opportunities 
  • Identifying opportunities to improve and strengthen existing partner relationships 
  • Establishing the metrics and visibility that provides executives with an in depth understanding of our revenue generating operations 
  • Managing sales team both for effort and achievement of results
  • Taking the full suite of GlobalStep development and product support capabilities to market effectively by demonstrating leadership & excellence in management of the sales function
  • Maintaining a comprehensive knowledge of the company’s products and services

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • The ideal candidate will have a player-coach mentality and the ability to lead from the front, by example, and demonstrate skills and behaviours for team members to emulate  
  • The ability to lead both in the formulation and the execution of strategy and at the tactical level of enabling deals to get to closure 
  • A demonstrable track record of a strong analytical mindset, critical reasoning, presentation, and communication skills 
  • Sales experience in technology service sales (gaming industry is a plus)
  • Preferred background in video games, B2B sales in the interactive entertainment, technology services or gambling industries
  • Preferred candidate should have the ability to increase market penetration through the acquisition of new accounts with a specialized team of hunters 
  • Proven ability to allocate responsibilities, set up leading sales indicators, to manage for both revenue growth as well as margins and profitability 
  • 10+ years’ experience in a global, revenue generating role 
  • Awareness of working across time zones and geographies 
  • Strategic vision to predict new trends in gaming and implement sound strategies to capitalize on new business opportunities 
  • Experience managing a sales team (global team is a plus) 
  • Bachelor’s degree in sales, business, marketing, or related field
  • Awareness of the video gaming industry and a passion for gaming
